Proctoring

Proctoring Software

For information on proctoring software usage, the Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT) offers the following guide:

Zoom Proctoring

  • Zoom Recordings: Students set up and record themselves taking an exam while using a desktop share in Zoom. The recording would be submitted in Canvas so that the faculty can audit to ensure that there were no materials used outside of what was provided. This requires faculty review.
  • Live Zoom Meeting: Faculty can meet with their students live in a Zoom meeting to proctor all students at once. Students can have their camera and microphones turned on and can contact faculty with questions via the hand raise feature.

For more information on proctoring using Zoom, see our guide.
