Canvas offers live support over the phone (1-833-330-8387 for faculty and 1-844-683-6439 for students) and online via chat 24/7. Both students and instructors can use the support functions via the Help tab on the Global Navigation bar in Canvas.

1. To start a conversation as an instructor, select the “Chat with Canvas Support (Faculty)” link.
2. A new window/tab will open, asking you to complete contact information and assess the perceived severity of the issue (ranging from casual question to critical emergency).
3. Note: Be mindful to select the correct “Role” from the dropdown list for Student, Admin, or Faculty.
   
4. Once you select the “Start Chatting” button, you will either be immediately connected to a representative to assist or see where you are in the queue to wait.
5. After you discuss your questions with Canvas support, you will be emailed a transcript of your conversation for your records.
